About this Gig
I offer in-depth feedback (both line edits and overall/structural feedback in written form) on your supplemental essays for your MFA or PhD in Creative Writing apps. I have completed a fully funded MFA program at Ohio State and am currently earning my PhD in Creative Writing and Lit at USC.
I edit towards:
- Making your writing sample stand out among other talented applications
- Making a narrative/throughline for your Statement of Purpose/Teaching Statement, etc.
- Maintaining pacing and clarity
- Avoiding SOP (& general essay) red flags
- Grammatically correct and polished products
Supplemental Essays (up to 3750 words)
- Statement of Purpose
- Teaching Statement
- Diversity Statement
- Project Proposal
Critical Essays (up to 6250)
These are most often required for PhD programs or MFA/MA programs. I will edit with an eye toward academic conventions, original scholarship, and demonstrating your potential as a student.
Happy to work on revisions if you select that option. Can't wait to read your work!
