What is CLAUDE.md and why does it matter?
CLAUDE.md is the project-level instruction file Claude reads at the start of every session. It tells Claude your stack, your naming conventions, what it is and is not allowed to modify, how to run your tests, and how to format commits.
How long does a complete setup take?
The time varies based on how many MCP connections you want and the complexity of your repo structure. Monorepos with multiple packages take longer than single-project setups.
Can you configure Claude Code for a monorepo?
Yes. Monorepo setup is a Standard package. I configure a root-level CLAUDE.md that defines the overall structure, plus package-level CLAUDE.md files that scope Claude's context when working inside individual packages.
Do you connect MCP servers as part of setup?
Yes. Standard and Premium packages include MCP server configuration for up to 2 and 5 tools respectively. If you do not yet have the MCP servers built, I can build them as part of a combined order with Gig 1. Message me and I will scope both together.
Can multiple developers on my team use the same configuration?
Yes. The CLAUDE.md and MCP configuration files are checked into the repository, so every developer who clones the repo gets the same Claude Code setup automatically. The Premium package includes a 30-minute team session to walk your developers through the workflow.
What if I am on Claude Code free tier — does the setup differ?
The CLAUDE.md and MCP configuration work the same across all Claude Code tiers. The main difference is token budget — Pro has higher limits which allow longer context windows during complex refactors. The setup I deliver is optimized for whichever tier you are on.
How do I maintain the configuration as my project evolves?
I deliver a written guide explaining which sections of CLAUDE.md to update when you add new dependencies, change your architecture, or add new MCP tools.
