FAQ
What do you need to start a metal frame tech pack?
Photos or a sketch of the frame, the metal (stainless, titanium, monel), the finish you want, your target size and any parts you already buy. A size code from a sample helps me start from real numbers.
Do you draw titanium and rimless frames?
Yes. Titanium full-rim, semi-rimless and rimless frames are drawn part by part. For rimless I mark drill points and screw positions on the lens diagram so the lab and factory agree.
Do you specify plating and finishes?
Yes. I name the finish (gold, rose gold, gunmetal, matte black, brushed) and where it applies, so the factory quotes the right process. Final colour is approved on their sample.
Will my factory accept your metal frame tech pack?
It follows the layout metal frame factories quote from: toleranced part drawings, a parts list and finish callouts. Small tooling changes they ask for are made within the brief.
Can you draw from photos of a frame I already sell?
Yes. Send front, side and top photos with the size code. I redraw your frame as it is or with your changes, without copying another brand's design or logo.
Which software do you use?
AutoCAD for part drawings, Rhino to check wire bends and the pad arm geometry in 3D, Illustrator for finish pages and KeyShot for renders.
Do you make samples or source metal parts?
No. I deliver digital files only. Your factory makes samples and sources hinges, screws and pads. I can match parts to supplier codes you send me.
