I read your manuscript from a reader's perspective and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback on characters, plot, pacing, dialogue, emotional impact, consistency, and overall reader experience. My feedback is tailored to your specific manuscript.
What format should I use when submitting my manuscript?
Either Microsoft Word or Google Docs. This way, I can add inline comments to your manuscript (this is an add-on). If you provide me with a Google Doc, I will request permission to edit through the document.
Is there anything I should include in my manuscript to make it easier to read?
Yes, page numbers and each chapter starting on a new page. It makes it easier for me to reference in my reader report, where I can direct you to a specific page.
What if my manuscript is over 100,000 words?
Please message me before ordering. Manuscripts over 100,000 words require prior approval so I can confirm availability, pricing, and an appropriate delivery schedule.
Can you meet a specific deadline?
Please contact me before ordering with your desired completion date. I'll check my reading calendar and confirm whether I can meet your deadline. My standard turnaround times are listed with each package.
Do you use AI?
No, I do not use AI in any of my workflows.
What is your process?
I read each manuscript twice. The first time, just for the story. The second read is to write my reader report and to add inline comments (this is an add-on).
Do you edit or proofread?
No. Beta reading focuses on the reader experience rather than correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, or sentence-level writing. If you're looking for editing or proofreading, this service may not be the right fit.
