I will convert stl mesh to editable step cad, fix broken scans for cnc

About this gig
Did your machinist or 3D printer reject your STL file because it is not an editable solid?
I will convert your STL mesh into an editable STEP CAD solid ready for CNC machining, 3D printing, or manufacturing.
Whether you have a raw 3D scan, a bad mesh download, or an old model that needs dimensional changes, I rebuild it into clean, parametric CAD using SolidWorks and Fusion 360.
What I Will Do:
Convert STL, OBJ, or 3MF to solid STEP / IGES
Repair broken mesh geometry, open holes, and scale errors
Modify dimensions (adjust hole sizes, wall thickness, or mounting points)
Recreate 3D scans into clean, parametric solid CAD models
Deliverables:
STEP / STP Universal solid file for CNC machining & production
IGES Universal surface file
Native Source File (SolidWorks / Fusion 360 upon request)
Professional engineering work compliant with ISO standards.
Please message me with your file attached before ordering so I can review it and confirm the best package for your project!

FAQ
Why does my CNC shop require a STEP file instead of my STL?
An STL file is a hollow mesh made of flat triangles with no real solid geometry or dimensional data. CNC machines and software require a STEP (STP) file—which is a parametric solid—to calculate exact toolpaths, cutting speeds, and precise dimensions.
Will the delivered STEP file be fully editable in my CAD software?
Yes, I rebuild the mesh into a clean, parametric solid model. You will be able to open, measure, edit, and modify the file in any standard CAD software, including SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, AutoCAD, and Creo.
Can you fix broken geometry or change dimensions during conversion?
Yes, I can repair mesh errors (such as open holes, flipped surfaces, or distorted geometry from 3D scans) and modify dimensions, such as adjusting hole sizes, wall thicknesses, or adding mounting tabs before final export.
Do you accept organic or sculpted 3D models (like characters or faces)?
This gig focuses on mechanical and industrial parts. Organic/sculpted mesh files (like human faces, animals, or artistic sculptures) require complex surface modeling. Please message me with your file before ordering so I can provide a custom quote.
What file formats will I receive with my order?
Depending on your selected package, you will receive the solid STEP (.step/.stp) file, IGES (.igs), and a re-exported clean STL. Native editable source files (SolidWorks .sldprt or Fusion 360 .f3d) and 2D PDF/DXF drawings are also available upon request.
What if my manufacturer reports a dimensional issue?
I design according to strict ISO manufacturing standards. If your CNC machinist or 3D print shop reports any file compatibility or geometry issue, I will modify and update your files free of charge until it is 100% production ready.
