About this Gig
As a queer and trans/non-binary person who loves reading, I'm happy to read and provide feedback on all genres. This service includes Beta reading - I'll provide a reader report with developmental feedback on characters, overall impressions as a reader, plot, pacing, etc. I'll provide in-line comments on your manuscript with my reactions and line-level suggestions. Additionally, I'll focus on authenticity and potential cliches/harmful tropes for LGBTQ+ characters. I also have some insight into mental illness as a person with anxiety and OCD and as a child of disabled/neurodivergent parents.
Happy to read all genres - including erotica/romance as well as kink and depictions of sex work! Please note in the "anything else I should know" questions if it includes darker elements such as any actions that aren't quite safe, sane, or consensual (which is still fine, just like to know if it's intentional)
I can do my best to flag potentially problematic issues with characters of color, characters with a disability, etc. However, I would strongly recommend hiring someone from the community you're writing about for diversity dimensions I cannot provide authentic insight.

FAQ
When should I get a sensitivity read?
The earlier, the better! I can work with outlines, early drafts, and manuscripts that have undergone developmental edits. If you've had a line edit, I can still take a look, but if you are at the copyediting/proofreading stage, I will likely decline the project.
Why won't you take projects close to release date?
If you are looking for a rubber stamp approval that there is nothing problematic in your book, I am not the sensitivity reader for you. My role is to catch areas of concern with the premise, plot, and character arcs in a large scale as well as on the line-level.
What do I need to know before booking?
Please message me before booking to make sure we're a right fit for each other and to discuss schedules, as I may be booked out for several weeks and that might not work with your publishing timeline.
Do you use AI at all?
Absolutely not. I do not use AI in any part of my beta reading process. Additionally, if you used generative AI to produce your book/writing (grammar/spell check or accessibility aids are not counted as generative AI), I am not the beta reader for you.
