What genres do you edit?
I work across both fiction and non-fiction. Please message me before ordering with your genre, word count and a brief description of your project so I can confirm I'm the right fit for your manuscript.
What does development editing include?
I focus on the big-picture elements of your manuscript, including structure, pacing, narrative/argument, character development, voice, clarity, consistency and overall cohesion. I'll identify strengths and areas for development and provide practical suggestions for revision.
Do you offer proofreading or copyediting?
No. These packages focus specifically on developmental editing and structural feedback. I don't provide line-by-line proofreading, grammar correction or copyediting as part of these packages.
Can you edit my entire book?
Yes! Each package includes up to 20,000 words, and you can add additional 5,000-word increments to cover a full manuscript. Please select the appropriate number of additional words when ordering.
Can you edit a manuscript that isn't finished?
I recommend submitting a complete first draft wherever possible, as developmental feedback is most useful when I can assess the manuscript as a whole. If you're working with an incomplete manuscript, please message me first to discuss your project.
Will you rewrite my manuscript?
No. My role is to provide professional editorial guidance, not to rewrite your work. I'll explain what could be strengthened and why, and give you practical suggestions so you can make the changes yourself.
How does the Premium package work?
After you receive your initial feedback, you'll have time to revise your manuscript. You can then submit your revised manuscript for a second developmental review, where I'll assess how your changes have addressed the original feedback and identify any remaining areas to work on.
Can I contact you before placing an order?
Absolutely! I encourage you to message me first, particularly for larger projects. Please include your genre, word count, a short synopsis/description and what you'd like help with. I'll let you know which package is most appropriate.
Is my manuscript kept confidential?
Yes. Your manuscript and personal information will be treated as confidential and will not be shared with third parties or used for purposes outside completing your editing service.
How long will my edit take?
My standard delivery times are 60 days for Basic, 75 days for Standard and 90 days for Premium. These timeframes allow me to give your manuscript the careful attention it deserves alongside my professional publishing work. If you need your edit sooner, please message me before ordering.
