What I do:
- Standardize company names, contact names, emails, domains and phone numbers (E.164 when valid and interpretable for the specified default country).
- Detect duplicate and near-duplicate records.
- Tag every suggested merge with a reason and a confidence level.

I use conservative matching. Only high-confidence duplicates are grouped automatically. Anything uncertain is flagged in a separate review list never auto-merged, never silently deleted. You stay in control of your data.
