What does developmental editing cover?
I analyze the story structure, plot development, pacing, character arcs, dialogue, and thematic elements. My goal is to enhance the overall flow and impact of your story while keeping your unique voice intact.
Do you fix grammar, spelling and punctuation?
I do, but not in a developmental edit. I have a separate gig for copyediting. Developmental editing focuses solely on the story itself.
Do you edit all genres?
Yes. Fiverr only allows me to select 3 genre, but I will work on just about anything. I love young adult, romance and fantasy stories. I particularly love stories with a paranormal or supernatural element. If your story contains sensitive content or mature themes, please let me know in advance.
Do you have any trigger warnings?
I am not opposed to reading works with darker content, but I would appreciate being warned in advance. I don't like overly gruesome or disturbing depictions of violence or abuse of children or animals.
Will you rewrite parts of my manuscript?
No, I won’t rewrite sections. I'll provide feedback and suggestions, but any changes to the text are up to you.
How long will it take to edit my manuscript?
The timeline depends on the word count and complexity. I'll confirm the timeframe before starting.
Will you provide chapter-by-chapter feedback?
Yes, I can include chapter-specific notes, along with general feedback on the story as a whole.
