I will analyze your pcb power delivery network pdn impedance and decoupling
Engineering on demand from PCB schematics to API review
About this Gig
Is a noisy power rail causing glitches, resets, or failing your ADC/PLL? I analyze your board's power delivery network (PDN) and tell you exactly which decoupling to change - before you respin.
Good for teams who have a working schematic but see noise, instability, or marginal behaviour they can't pin down.
What you get:
- Target impedance calculated for each rail from your voltage, current and allowed droop
- Impedance-vs-frequency profile of your current decoupling network
- Anti-resonance peaks identified - the hidden spots where noise blows up
- A corrected decoupling scheme: which caps to add, remove or change, with real part numbers and datasheet ESR/ESL
- A clear PDF report: what's wrong, why, and the fix
Covers DC to ~500 MHz using analytical PDN modelling. This is impedance and decoupling analysis, not a 3D electromagnetic field solve - for sign-off-grade extraction you'd need an EM tool, and I'll tell you honestly if your case needs one.
Send me your stackup and decoupling BOM before ordering and I'll confirm what I can do with it.

FAQ
don't have a stackup, can you still review my PDN?
Yes. I'll use standard fab-house stackup assumptions (JLCPCB/PCBWay) and label them clearly. It works, but accuracy drops without your real dielectric heights and copper weightsm so better send them if you have them.
Is this a full 3D electromagnetic simulation?
No. This is analytical impedance analysis. The targets are impedance, decoupling networks, anti-resonance. It catches the great majority of real-world PDN problems. For sign-off-grade accuracy on a high-speed board you'd need a 3D EM extraction tool, and I'll tell you if your case is one of those.
What frequency range does this cover?
DC to roughly 500 MHz using analytical modelling. Above that, board behaviour needs measurement or EM extraction rather than lumped-element analysis.
Can you choose the decoupling parts for me?
Yes. I recommend specific capacitors with Digikey part numbers and datasheet-verified ESR/ESL, not generic values.
Do you deliver a PCB layout or Gerber files?
No, this service analyzes your power network and tells you what to change. It doesn't include board layout, routing, or fabrication files.
