As an avid reader with a Cornell University writing certification, I provide thoughtful, story-focused beta reading for romance and fantasy manuscripts including all subgenres (contemporary, dark, paranormal, romantasy, high fantasy, urban fantasy, and more) for both adult and YA audiences. I am comfortable with any level of spice.
As a friendly reminder, beta reading isn't a grammar check- it's a reader's honest reaction to how your story works. I focus on:
- Pacing
- Character believability and arcs
- Plot holes and logic gaps
- Genre expectations
Every order includes in-line/margin comments throughout your manuscript. The Standard and Premium Package includes a written summary report.
I accept Google Docs or Word (.docx) files. I do not accept PDFs, as they can't be annotated properly.
This is a beta read, not a copyedit. I won't be correcting line-by-line grammar or spelling, though I'll flag anything that significantly disrupts readability.
It is a 100% human review of your story. AI will not be used to review any part of your story.

Do you edit grammar and spelling?
No—this is a story-level beta read, not a copyedit. I'll flag major readability issues but won't correct every line.
Can I submit an incomplete manuscript or work-in-progress?
Yes, I'm happy to read WIPs and give feedback on where the story could go next.
What file formats do you accept?
Google Docs (preferred) or Word .docx. I can't annotate PDFs.
What if my manuscript is longer than 20,000 words?
At this time, I'm only able to accept manuscripts up to 20,000 words to ensure I can give each project the attention it deserves. I'd recommend breaking longer works into sections (e.g., by act or word-count chunks) if you'd like feedback on a larger project.
Are you comfortable reading romance with explicit/spicy content?
Yes — I'm comfortable with any level of spice.
Is there any content you won't read?
I don't accept manuscripts containing sexual content involving minors, bestiality, or incest. Beyond that, I'm comfortable with most romance and fantasy content, including dark themes and explicit scenes— if you're unsure whether your manuscript fits, feel free to message me before ordering.
