Usually a difference in how release builds handle environment variables, native modules, or code that gets stripped in production. It is a common problem and a fixable one.
Can you work in a codebase you did not write?
Yes, that is most of my work. Someone else built the app, they are gone, and something broke. I read the code and find the cause rather than guessing from the symptom.
What if my issue is bigger than the package I picked?
I will tell you before I start and send a custom offer for the right scope. I would rather quote it correctly than take the order and miss the deadline.
Will I get the fixed source code?
Yes, source code is included in every package, along with an explanation of what caused the bug so it does not come back.
