I will be your romance beta reader, fantasy beta reader and sci fi beta reader
About this Gig
Your beta reader said your romance was "good" and you are no closer to publishing.
They read outside your genre, so they flag your tropes instead of your pacing.
Nobody told you the chapter where they stopped caring.
You do not need praise. You need a romance beta reader who reads what your readers read.
WHAT YOUR BETA READ GIVES YOU
- The exact page you lost me, chapter by chapter
- A pacing and spice map: where your tension builds and where it sags
- Whether your tropes delivered what your cover promised
- Whether your leads earned the fall, or just stood near each other
- Whether your third act conflict holds and your HEA lands
Your report arrives as a document you can revise straight from. This is beta reading, not editing or proofreading. You learn how a real reader experiences your book while you can still change it, before your editor and before Amazon.
Writing romantasy? As a fantasy beta reader I track your magic and your romance arc together, because readers judge them as one book. Same for sci fi romance.

FAQ
Are you a romance beta reader or an editor?
A romance beta reader. I read as your target reader and tell you what landed, what confused me and where I lost interest. I do not correct grammar or rewrite sentences. Hire a line editor for that, after beta reading is done
Do you actually read romance, or take any manuscript?
I read it by choice. Slow burn, enemies to lovers, morally grey leads, romantasy and spice are what I pick up for fun. A reader outside the genre flags your tropes as cliches instead of recognising them as the promise you made your reader.
Which subgenres do you cover as a fantasy beta reader?
Romantasy, fae and dragon fantasy, epic fantasy, dark fantasy and sci fi romance. For romantasy the magic system and the romance arc get equal attention, because that is how your readers judge the book.
Will your manuscript feedback be too harsh or too soft?
Neither. I tell you where the book lost me and why, tied to the exact moment it happened. No vague praise, no tearing you down. Every note is something you can act on in your next draft.
What exactly do I receive?
A written report covering your opening hook, chapter notes, a pacing and spice map, character reactions, your third act and your ending. Plain language, specific pages, delivered as a document you can revise from.
