We build an AI feature into our SaaS. Are we a provider?
Often yes. If you offer an AI system under your own name, you can be its provider even when it runs on a model from OpenAI or another vendor. The classification sets out your role for each system and what follows from it.
When do the high-risk rules apply?
The ban on prohibited practices has applied since February 2025. After the July 2026 amendment, most high-risk obligations apply from 2 December 2027. The register tells you whether anything you build or use falls into that category.
Is this legal advice?
No. I'm a risk and compliance consultant, not a lawyer. You get a documented classification your legal counsel can review and confirm, which saves them most of the work.
Does this help with ISO 42001?
Yes. An AI register is the starting point for ISO/IEC 42001 too. If you plan to certify, I'll structure it so you can reuse it for your AI management system.
Do you provide support after delivery?
