Alpha reading comes before beta reading! Alpha reading is to help with the first stages of editing. 1st or 2nd draft is when you would get an alpha reader.

I'll provide comprehensive, big-picture structural feedback immersing myself completely in your manuscript to catch story issues before you spend months editing. My focus will be entirely on whether your plot, pacing, and characters actually work. I will point out flaws in plot, speed of your pacing, character dialogue, and overall character design as well as world building, magic systems and more.
