About this gig
Is your website running a vulnerable version of PHP?
On October 21, 2026, PHP released emergency fixes for PHP2Shell (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619), two critical flaws that let attackers run code on your server with no login. Attacks are already happening. WordPress, WooCommerce, Drupal, Joomla, Laravel and custom PHP sites are all exposed. Updating PHP is the only real fix.
What I'll do:
- Full backup of your files and database first
- Upgrade PHP to a patched release (8.2 to 8.5 branches)
- Move you off unsupported PHP (5.x, 7.x, 8.0, 8.1)
- Update your plugins, themes and CMS core
- Fix anything the upgrade breaks: contact forms, plugins, themes, checkout, custom code
- Check for common signs of a hack
- Send a short before/after report
Works with cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, VPS/SSH and most shared hosts.
On shared hosting, I'll switch you to the newest patched PHP your host offers. No service can guarantee a site will never be hacked, but this removes the PHP2Shell exposure.

FAQ
Will upgrading PHP break my site?
It can if plugins or themes are outdated. That's why I back up first, update plugins and themes, and fix anything that breaks, including contact forms. If something can't be made compatible, I'll roll back and explain why.
I'm on PHP 7.4. Am I affected?
Yes. PHP 7.4, 8.0 and 8.1 are affected and won't get an official patch. You need to move to a supported version, and this gig covers that.
How do I know if I've already been hacked?
I check for common signs of a hack as part of this gig. If I find evidence of a breach, I'll tell you and quote a separate cleanup.
Do you need my passwords?
I need hosting or SSH access and your CMS admin login. I recommend creating a temporary account or changing passwords after delivery.
