I'm Amelia Birch an editor and author writing my own dark romantasy manuscript, so I read your book the way another writer in this genre actually reads: tracking pacing, whether your love interest earns his redemption arc, when world-building starts explaining instead of showing.
A dev edit isn't a grammar pass. It's the big-picture work, the things that make readers DNF at chapter 12, or stay up until 2am to finish. I'm looking at pacing and structure, character arcs and consistency, plot logic and setup/payoff, voice and tone, and whether your tropes are landing the way you intend them to.

My focus is fantasy, romance, romantasy, dark romance, thriller romance, and dystopian. If your manuscript falls outside these genres, message me first — I may still be a fit, but I want to make sure I can give you my best work.
What if my manuscript is longer than 120k words?
No problem — just add the word-count extra for your package, or message me first if you're unsure which tier fits. Everything I offer is customizable
Will you fix grammar during a Developmental Edit?
No — a Dev Edit focuses on story-level craft (pacing, character arcs, plot logic, voice). Line-level grammar and typos are covered separately in the Proofread Pass. I can however add that on for an additional fee
How do I send you my Manuscript?
Once your order is placed, I'll send you instructions for sharing your file securely (Google Doc or Word doc preferred).
Is my manuscript kept confidential?
100% yes, always. Your work is for your credit and as a fellow writer, I fully understand wanting things to be shared with trust and control.
Do you offer revisions?
Feedback is delivered as a complete, thorough edit. If something in my notes is unclear, I'm happy to clarify — just message me.
What if I need a rush ordering?
