Here's something most Shopify freelancers won't tell you upfront: the majority of broken stores aren't actually broken they're running on a patchwork of quick fixes stacked on top of each other until one small change knocks the whole thing over. I don't add another patch. I find the actual cause, fix that, and leave your theme in a state where the next update doesn't break it again.
