Cherries on Top was started by five friends, one of whom was diagnosed with cancer. We had two choices: rely on others to save our friend, or do everything within our power to raise funds that would help find a cure for cancer. We went for the second option, and that’s how Cherries on Top was born. Cherries on Top raises money worldwide to fund promising and ground-breaking cancer research. Cancer shouldn’t be a potential death sentence, but something that can be cured. Or at least make it as manageable as, say, hay fever. Ambitious? Of course. But, hey - it takes just one seed to plant a rainforest, one drop of rain to end a drought, and one cent to reach a research funding milestone. As a YouTube Ambassador I host offline events, workshops and network gatherings for the Dutch YouTube community. On these events creators from all provinces come together. By sharing information and inspiration we provide an important link between the company YouTube and its creators. Our events and presentations covered different topics like audience growth, channel optimization, video production, collaborations, product updates, channel branding and analytics. I share experiences, new developments and ideas both ways between YouTube and YouTubers to improve and sustain a healthy, happy and productive Dutch YouTube community. Trainings: Besides the events that I host I was lucky to get trainings and attend events at the YouTube office in London, Amsterdam and the Creator Summit in San Bruno. I took and passed two YouTube certified exams (‘Audience Growth’ and ‘Content Strategy & Brand Partner Program’)
