About this Gig
Great formatting is essential for your first impression on prospective new readers (just as I'm trying to make an impression on you right now!). I'll make sure your vision is cleanly executed in a way that displays consistently across all reader formats as well as on paper.
We start by removing all of the random font families and size declarations that litter every word processor file. You can specify a font if you wish but leaving it up to the reader is a proven way to elevate their ebook experience. They like being able to select fonts and font sizes.
Once the manuscript's underlying HTML is cleaned up, we add in all of your stylistic choices. Elements like raised capitals or dropcaps can dress up the start of a chapter. Many authors like to incorporate a simple image in their chapter headers or as a way to indicate point of view changes.
I've been at this for decades, starting out by producing handbooks for soldiers on UN missions and I've been formatting books for KDP for more than fifteen years. I'll make sure you have perfectly formatted files for trouble-free upload.

How are revisions handled?
If I've made any mistakes, I fix them quickly and without charge or limits. If you've discovered that you've made a couple of typos after file delivery, I offer up to three revisions, provided it isn't a huge re-write.
Do you do images as part of the conversion?
Yes, I can format images (provided by you) into the document. Common usage includes an image or graphic at the start of a chapter, a smaller, centered image to indicate a change in POV or a page of graphics and text advertising your email-list signup. You must have the rights to use any images.
Do you do raised caps or drop-caps?
Yes, but not all readers can handle drop-caps so I code them first as a raised cap for the older kindles and then use a media query to turn them into drop-caps for newer models. This won't work for letters with a quotation mark but the Chicago Manual of Style advises leaving them off a drop-cap.
Do you do embedded fonts?
A font from a legit source like Google Fonts? Sure, but you should keep it to chapter headers or drop caps. Readers like to choose their own fonts for body text (Open Dyslexic being a good example). Fonts from smaller sites may have CC0 licenses but sometimes they are pirated...
