FAQ
Which devices can you design, and how many per order?
Each order covers one device: a leak detector, smart plug, smart lock or occupancy sensor. For more than one, add extras or place a separate order for each.
Which files will I receive?
You get native Onshape files plus STEP and STL exports. Higher packages add 2D drawings, DFM notes and renders, as listed in the package descriptions.
Can you design the mounting, such as a wall plate, door fitting or ceiling bracket?
Yes. I design the housing and how it mounts, based on the wall, door or surface details you send. I need dimensions or photos of the mounting area, and for a smart lock, the door and hardware specifications.
Do you design the electronics, PCB or firmware?
No. I design the housing around the PCB outline and battery you provide, and I check the fit. PCB schematic design, firmware and the app are not included.
Is the design certified for electrical safety or security?
No. I design the enclosure and product structure only. Electrical safety certification (UL, CE), creepage and clearance checks, and security testing stay with you and your compliance team. This matters most for smart plugs and smart locks.
