I write AutoCAD plugins in C# against the managed API (AcMgd/AcDbMgd) for AutoCAD 2018-2026, Civil 3D, Electrical and Mechanical. Most jobs are one command that reads what is already in the drawing and writes the answer back as real entities on your layers. From my own solar CAD product: a 3D router took a 491-string site and returned 172,627 ft of homerun, the same footages on every rerun. Another inserts a 15-row equipment schedule you can still edit. Four to fourteen days. You get the plugin, source, installer and tests, and you own it. Not my work: Revit, ArcGIS, AutoCAD LT.

Which AutoCAD versions, and is the installer signed?
2018 through 2026, one build per version from one source tree. 2018-2024 is .NET Framework, 2025-2026 is .NET 8, and that split is where the per-version work is. Civil 3D, Electrical and Mechanical too. Installers are Authenticode signed through DigiCert. LT cannot load .NET plugins.
What do you need from me to start?
Send two or three real drawings and include a bad one. Layer name drift, exploded blocks, mismatched attribute tags and legacy XData are normal, and they decide the design more than the happy path does. Send one finished output done by hand too, so I have something to match.
Do we own the code, and what if you disappear?
You get the full source, the installer and the tests, and you own them. No license fee, no per-seat charge, no obfuscated DLL, nothing phoning home. One limit: the installer is signed with my certificate, so signing your own builds later needs your own certificate and token.
Can it run headless, on a server or across a folder?
Often. I have run compiled .NET/ObjectARX bundles on APS Design Automation with DWG read and write both working, and batch runs across a folder on the desktop. Anything needing a palette, a pick or a decision mid-run stays interactive, and I tell you which parts before you pay.
My job is bigger than these packages. How do you price it?
Paid discovery first, at a fixed price. I read your drawings and standards, then write the architecture, the exact scope and fixed prices for the build. Stop there and the document is yours to take to any developer. The fee is not credited against the build price.
What about long-term maintenance and support?
The plugin outlives our engagement: you hold the source, tests and installer. For a new AutoCAD release or a rule change, book a small update order; most take a day or two. And if I ever disappear, any .NET developer can build and extend it from the source and test suite you own.
