Can you work on a really old Rails app?
Usually yes. I have worked on apps several major versions behind. Send me your Ruby and Rails version and I will tell you honestly whether it is a clean upgrade or a bigger job, before you order.
Do I have to give you production access?
No. A repository and a staging environment are enough for almost everything. I would rather you did not hand production credentials to anyone on a marketplace.
Can you add AI to my Rails app?
Yes, and I will push back if it does not belong there. The useful version is usually a specific feature - search over your own data, drafting, classification, automating a manual step - not a chatbot in the corner.
Do you use AI tools to write the code?
I use an AI-assisted workflow to move faster, and I review, test and take responsibility for everything I deliver. You are hiring the engineer, not the tool.
What if the upgrade breaks something?
That is what the test suite and staging are for. If something I changed breaks, I fix it. That is covered by the order, not an extra charge.
Can you keep working on the app after this order?
Yes. Most of this work turns into ongoing maintenance. We can arrange that once you have seen the first delivery and know the quality is what you want.
