Manufacturer doesn't sell the part anymore? I'm a mechanic and metal fabricator who models in SolidWorks I reverse engineer broken and discontinued parts into print-ready files, and I print and fit-test designs on my own machines, so I know what actually survives real use.
Send clear photos with a ruler or calipers in frame (I'll send you a simple measuring guide after you order). You get STL for printing + STEP for machining files any shop can open.
I've done this for my own equipment: a toolbox hinge the manufacturer never sold, and the coin-mechanism parts that put my own vending machines back in service when replacements didn't exist. Gallery images are real parts I designed, printed, and use. (Already have a 3D scan of your part? I design from your STL/OBJ scan data too.)

Mechanic and metal fabricator who models in SolidWorks (CSWP). I reverse engineer broken and discontinued parts into print-ready STL + STEP files, design brackets and mounts that fit real hardware, and draw DXF flat patterns for plasma and laser — I own and run a CNC plasma table. Every portfolio piece is a physical part I made and use. Deliverables are STEP, STL, DXF, and PDF drawings, so any shop or printer can open them. 10+ years fixing and fabricating; US Navy fire-control technician before that.

What do I send you?
Clear photos of the part from the front, side, and top with a ruler or calipers in frame, plus the 3–5 dimensions that matter most (overall size, hole spacing, anything that has to fit something else). After you order I send a one-page measuring guide. A photo of where the part mounts helps a lot.
The part is broken, can you still do it?
Yes, that's most of my orders. Photograph every piece you have. I rebuild the missing geometry from what's left and from how it has to fit.
What files do I get?
STL (print-ready) and STEP (opens in any CAD, machinable). Standard and Premium add a dimensioned PDF drawing. Formats every shop and printer opens.
Can you supply a native SolidWorks (.SLDPRT) file?
No. Deliverables are STEP, STL, DXF, and PDF. If you specifically need a native SolidWorks file, this gig isn't the right fit.
What if the printed part doesn't fit?
Tell me where it's tight or loose and I adjust. One fit-revision round is included in every tier on top of the listed revisions. I can't guarantee a fit on measurements I didn't take, which is why the measuring guide matters.
Can you print it for me?
Not on this gig, files only. Any print shop or home printer can run the STL.
