FAQ
What file formats will I receive upon delivery?
Standard deliveries include high-resolution, print-ready PDFs formatted for wide-format plotters (A0) or standard home printers (A4/Letter). Source vector files (.AI) are included in the Standard and Premium packages.
What is pattern grading, and how many sizes do you offer?
Pattern grading is the technical process of scaling your base pattern (e.g., Size M) up and down to create additional sizes (XS, S, L, XL) while maintaining the original design's proportions and fit. I can grade up to 5 sizes in my Premium tier.
Can you create sewing patterns for complex outerwear or activewear?
Yes. I specialize in a wide range of modern apparel, including technical streetwear (heavyweight hoodies, multi-pocket cargo pants) and functional, stretch-dependent activewear.
Do you account for fabric stretch and shrinkage when creating the patterns?
Yes, absolutely. Pattern engineering depends heavily on fabric properties. Whether you are using heavy non-stretch cotton for streetwear or high-stretch spandex for activewear, please specify your material type so I can adjust the pattern tolerances and draft the blueprint for a perfect final fit.
Do your digital patterns include seam allowances?
Yes. By default, I include standard industrial seam allowances (typically 1 cm or 0.5 inches depending on the garment construction) clearly marked on every pattern piece. If your factory requests custom seam allowances, just let me know upfront.
What software do you use to engineer the digital patterns?
I primarily use Adobe Illustrator for precise vector layout drafting and CLO 3D for virtual sample fitting. This combination ensures that the mathematical curves of the pattern lines match up perfectly before the file ever goes to production.
Do you provide a pattern layout sheet or marker for cutting?
Yes, a pattern marker is included in the Premium package. This is a highly optimized layout sheet that shows your factory exactly how to place the pattern pieces on the fabric roll to maximize material usage and minimize expensive fabric waste.
