What is the coolest bot you've built?
Hard one to answer, but probably my EBay bot. It was designed to be used by ebay sellers to fully mange their ebay accounts via. Discord. This included viewing active order information, buying shipping labels, messaging customers, and much more.
What's different than a custom bot vs. using something like MEE6?
With public discord bots like MEE6, you're limited to it's capabilities. When you own a custom bot, there is an unlimited amount of control an features you can add. Anything is possible with code, and Discord bots are an amazing way to interface with many applications, workflows, or even companies.
Should you build the bot in Rust or Typescript?
Rust: - Harder to code (pricier developers) - Much more performant - Much more reliability and memory safety - More tedious to code, but better results. When it comes to Discord bots, Typescript is just fine. I would only pick Rust if you're trying to cut down on server resource usage.
