Whichever plan you choose, I'll have a read through you text, and then we can discuss what illustrations you have in mind and how these will help support the main ideas you wish to convey. This is very much a collaborative effort to help convey your story and have it stand out in the best possible light.
This is how I work:
Before starting the project, we have a deep discussion (hopefully on a call after I've read your draft) of what you want, including image references, colour palettes, and ideas to be highlighted. I create a sketch, and that is when we have the revision. Afterwards I create the final piece from that feedback, so you are always part of the process. The illustration stands on its own, but the aim is always to support your work.
