How should I export and send my files to you?
Please bounce all your tracks as individual WAV files (stems) starting from the absolute beginning of the session (bar 1, beat 1), even if there is silence at the start. This ensures everything lines up perfectly when I send them back.
Do you need to know the tempo (BPM) of the song?
Yes! If you recorded to a click track, please provide the exact BPM and time signature. If there are tempo changes, a MIDI tempo map or a detailed list of the changes is required.
I use 'X' DAW. Can I still hire you even if you use Pro Tools?
Absolutely. Because you are sending me consolidated WAV audio files, it doesn't matter what DAW you recorded in.
Can you remove the metronome click bleeding into my vocal/acoustic guitar track?
In most cases, yes. iZotope RX has specialized de-bleed tools that are great at removing click tracks.
My audio is heavily distorted/clipping. Can you fix it?
RX has a powerful De-clip module that can salvage mildly to moderately clipped audio. However, severe digital distortion cannot always be completely reversed. I highly recommend messaging me with the file before ordering so I can do a quick test.
Will quantizing my drums make them sound robotic and unnatural?
Not at all. I use Pro Tools' Beat Detective and manual slip-editing to tighten the performance while preserving the drummer's natural pocket and dynamics. We can align it 100% to the grid for modern metal/pop, or just do a light 50-70% quantization to keep a loose, human feel for jazz or indie rock.
