What DAW you use?
For Atmos I mainly use Pro Tools, but on occasion I also mix Atmos in Nuendo.
In what format should I send audio files?
For Atmos mixing, I will require files in 48kHz and 24-bit.
Should I send stems from my stereo mix or the original multitrack?
If your song has already been mixed in stereo, just send me the stems. If your song hasn't been mixed yet, I'll mix it in both Atmos and stereo simultaneously and provide you with both versions.
What stems do you require if my song has already been mixed in stereo?
It depends on the arrangement, but the basic stems should include: kick, snare, cymbals, bass, synths, pads, lead synths, keys, acoustic guitars, electric guitars, background vocals, lead vocals. For the best result, get in touch with me, and I will help you prepare the right stems.
Do you mix Atmos on speakers or headphones?
Because Atmos mostly listened on headphones, I do spend a lot of time working in headphones, but I also work in a studio with 9.1.4 speaker setup.
