I will clean format and deduplicate your excel or CSV data
About this Gig
Get a cleaner working file and a record of what changed.
I will clean your Excel or CSV table using rules you approve, then deliver the cleaned file, removed-row report and change log.
Included:
- Trim extra spaces and standardize agreed categories.
- Normalize dates using your stated source format.
- Remove exact duplicates using your approved key and retention rule.
- Preserve identifiers, including leading zeros.
- Flag missing values, invalid dates and conflicting records.
One item means one data row. Limits count all rows before cleanup across the supplied files; headers do not count. Each file must contain one flat table, with one data sheet per Excel file. The package's file and column limits also apply. Files are cleaned separately.
I do not invent missing values, guess dates, merge conflicting records or change formulas. Macros, dashboards, joins, PDF extraction, scraping and external research are excluded.
Send your files, cleanup rules, duplicate rule, date format and desired output. Message first if scope is unclear. Revisions apply the agreed rules to the original files; new rules or files need a separate agreement.

FAQ
What counts toward the row limit?
One item means one data row. Basic covers 100 total rows, Standard 2000 and Premium 5000 across all files before cleanup. Headers do not count. Each file has one flat table; each Excel file has one data sheet. Column limits apply per table.
How do you handle duplicates?
You identify the key and retention rule. I remove repeated records only when values match after approved cleanup. Conflicting values remain visible and flagged. Each file is cleaned separately; joins and cross-file reconciliation are excluded.
Can you fill missing values or repair invalid dates?
I flag missing and invalid values. I correct them only when you supply an authoritative value or explicit mapping within scope. I do not guess dates, contact details, prices, or other facts.
Will leading zeros survive?
Identifiers are stored as text in Excel. CSV preserves their characters but cannot store column types. I include import instructions so Excel does not automatically convert an identifier such as 001042 to 1042.
What does a revision cover?
Applying the original agreed rules to the original files. New rules, files or extra rows require separate agreement. Your source is preserved; changes to formulas, macros and workbook logic are excluded.
How do you check the finished files?
I verify the cleaned data against your approved rules and provide a change log. Describe any restrictions on processing your files before ordering.
