I will document your software codebase
About this Gig
Missing documentation makes software expensive to maintain and difficult to hand over. I will inspect your existing codebase and create practical documentation that helps another developer understand, run, and take ownership of it.
Depending on your package, I can document:
- Installation and local development
- Build, test, and run commands
- Project structure and architecture
- Environment-variable names and configuration
- Database setup and migrations
- External services and integrations
- Deployment and rollback procedures
- Operational and recovery steps
- Developer onboarding and handover notes
Documentation is delivered in clear Markdown unless another format is agreed upon.
This gig is intended for existing Node.js and TypeScript projects. It does not include code fixes, feature development, legal or compliance documents, SRS or BRD creation, or reconstruction of missing systems.
Please contact me before ordering with the repository size, current documentation, and intended audience. Never send passwords, API keys, or production secrets.

FAQ
What do you need to begin?
Repository access or a ZIP, any existing documentation, the intended audience, and a list of the areas you want documented.
Which technologies do you support?
This gig focuses on Node.js and TypeScript projects. Contact me before ordering for another stack.
Will you modify or fix the code?
No. This gig covers documentation only. I will identify unclear or missing information, but implementation work requires a separate order.
What format will I receive?
Markdown files suitable for GitHub or another repository. Other formats can be agreed upon before ordering.
Can you work with a private repository?
Yes. You can provide temporary repository access or a ZIP archive and remove access after delivery.
How do you verify the documentation?
I trace the relevant code and configuration and, when the package allows, test the documented setup commands. Anything that cannot be verified is clearly marked.
