Genetic Genealogist, DNA Match Analysis, Unknown Parent Research
About this Gig
If you have taken a DNA test and are searching for biological parents, unknown relatives or family connections, I will analyze your DNA matches and guide your research.
I am a genetic genealogist who manages over 90 DNA kits and has helped reunite more than 200 individuals with biological family members through DNA match analysis and genealogical research.
Using tools such as AncestryDNA, GEDmatch, DNA clustering, shared match analysis and family tree reconstruction, I work to identify possible biological family connections and research paths.
Important: You must already have DNA results from a testing service such as AncestryDNA, 23andMe, MyHeritage, or GEDmatch for this service.
FAQ
Do I need to have taken a DNA test already?
Yes. You must already have DNA results from a testing service such as AncestryDNA, 23andMe, MyHeritage, or GEDmatch.
Can you guarantee you will identify my biological parent?
Every case is different, so a confirmed identification cannot always be guaranteed. I work to build the strongest evidence-based conclusion possible using DNA matches, family trees, and records. In some situations, additional DNA testing can help strengthen and confirm the research findings.
Can you help adoptees or people with unknown parentage?
Yes. I specialize in working with adoptees and individuals with unknown parentage. Using DNA match analysis, family tree reconstruction, and historical records, I work to identify possible biological family connections and guide the next steps in the research process.
Will you need access to my DNA results?
Yes. To properly review your matches, I will need access to your DNA results. On AncestryDNA you can add me as a Collaborator. Other platforms have similar ways to share match lists. I will explain the best way to grant access once the order begins.
Which DNA testing service do you recommend if I haven’t tested yet?
For unknown parentage or biological family research, I recommend testing with AncestryDNA because it has the largest DNA database and often provides the most helpful matches. If you have already tested with another service, those results will still be useful for research.
