What is a footwear tech pack?
It's a document that explains how to make your shoe. It covers technical sketches from every angle, the upper parts, materials, sole details, stitching and colors, so your factory can make a sample without guessing.
Do I need a sketch before ordering?
No. A rough sketch helps, but a reference image or photos of a shoe you already have will also work. I'll ask questions to fill in anything that's missing before I start.
What does the $25 Basic package include?
It's a black and white side and top view flat sketch of one simple shoe, such as a low top sneaker, slide or sandal. It doesn't include a BOM, sole details or source files. Boots, high tops and shoes with complex soles start from Standard.
Do you create the shoe last or sole moulds?
No. Your factory makes the last and the sole moulds. My tech pack gives them the design, the materials, the component breakdown and the construction details they need to build them.
Can you suggest materials if I'm not sure what to use?
Yes. Tell me how you want the shoe to look and feel, and your rough budget. I'll suggest common options for the upper, lining and sole, and your factory can confirm what they can source.
What files will I receive?
Every package includes a PDF you can send to your factory. Basic also comes with PNG files. Standard and Premium include editable Adobe Illustrator source files.
