The older your Codeigniter is, the longer the work will take.
NO CHANGE TO PROCESSES
We do not change any processes within your web application. We do however change processes that are mandatory to make the upgrade work. These are just the basic processes that Codeigniter has changed throughout the years. Besides those processes we do not change anything.

PACKAGES
We can upgrade or replace the packages of Codeigniter (vendor folder). If a package is no longer maintained, we can suggest another package. But that will require additional work.
FULL ACCESS
To complete this Gig, we need to have full access to your Codeigniter, via SHH, to run commands. We also need to upgrade your PHP along the way. If you do not have that, no worries. We can use our servers for the upgrade.

Can you upgrade even older versions of Codeigniter?
Yes, we can upgrade much older versions of Codeigniter. But that will take (much) more time. It will be more cost effective to rebuild the project in Codeigniter 4.x or Laravel. We are happy to help you make an offer that suits your needs. Please send us a message.
How can I find the version of my Codeigniter project?
If you don’t know what version of CodeIgniter you are currently running, you can get it from the Debug Toolbar, or simply echo the constant \CodeIgniter\CodeIgniter::CI_VERSION.
Why is an upgrade so expensive?
The costs of the upgrade is the hours we spend upgrading the version, the files and testing your whole project to make sure it is fully operational after the upgrade. This is not a simpel update, like Wordpress. It will take time.
What data do you need to work on it?
We either need your login codes for the VPS where you are hosting your Codeigniter web project at this time. Or if you have all code in a GIT repo, we can use that to upgrade the project. When we just use a GIT, we will test the code local and put the code on the GIT. Not on your server.

The minimal PHP or Composer version needs to be upgraded. Can you help me?
Yes, we minimal PHP 8.1 and Composer 2.0.14 to install and run Codeigniter version 4.x. For upgrades we need to have the access_url_fopen turned on. If both are not present on your server, please change this before you order the Gig from us.
