As the Owner & Bookkeeper of my self-managed retail business, I was responsible for overseeing the complete financial and operational activities of the store. My role involved maintaining accurate bookkeeping records, recording daily sales and purchases, managing cash transactions, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring that financial data remained organized and up to date. I worked closely with suppliers, managed customer accounts, processed vendor payments, tracked business expenses, and maintained proper documentation for every financial transaction. In addition to day-to-day bookkeeping, I handled inventory management by monitoring stock movement, recording purchases, identifying low-stock items, and maintaining accurate inventory records. I was responsible for preparing sales summaries, organizing invoices, maintaining expense records, and ensuring that business operations ran efficiently. These responsibilities helped me develop strong attention to detail, financial accuracy, and effective record-keeping practices. My experience managing a real retail business gave me practical knowledge of bookkeeping workflows, financial organization, inventory control, and business operations. I am currently expanding my expertise by strengthening my skills in QuickBooks Online, Xero, bank reconciliation, financial reporting, and modern cloud-based accounting systems.
