I will localize your website for the german speaking market
About this Gig
Translating your website is not the same as making it work here.
A translated shop still has dollar prices, US date formats, inch sizes and an about page that reads as boastful to a German-speaking visitor. Everything is correct. Nothing feels right. Visitors leave without knowing why.
I rebuild your site content for this market.
What I handle:
- All page copy rewritten, not translated
- The formal or informal address decision, applied consistently across every page
- Prices, dates, sizes, weights and phone formats converted properly
- Navigation, buttons and form labels in wording people expect
- Checkout and error messages, where most translations fall apart
- A written list of what I changed and why
Also included: a note on which legally required pages your site is missing. Shops here need pages that most international sites do not have. I tell you what is missing, you or your lawyer create them.
I work with Shopify, WooCommerce, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, or plain text.
Send me your URL before ordering and I will tell you the exact scope and price. Free, no obligation.
Delivery style preference
Please inform the freelancer of any preferences or concerns regarding the use of AI tools in the completion and/or delivery of your order.
My Portfolio
FAQ
Do you put the text into my site, or just deliver it?
I deliver the content in an organized document matched to your page structure. Implementation is yours. If you want me to work inside your CMS, message me first - it depends on the platform.
Should my site use the formal or the informal address?
Formal for almost every shop. Informal fits youth fashion, gaming and some lifestyle brands. Getting this wrong is the most common and most damaging mistake foreign sites make. Tell me your audience and I will recommend.
Can you create the legally required pages my shop needs?
No. I tell you which ones are missing. The content itself must come from you or a lawyer - those pages carry real liability and are not something to improvise. Everything else on the site I handle.
