Do I need to have a Linux server to run these scripts?
While Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) is the ideal environment, we can also make most Python scripts work on Windows with WSL or Cygwin. I will write the code with portability in mind.
Is this safe? Won't automation break my network faster?
Automation is only dangerous if it isn't tested. My process always includes a "dry-run" mode where the script shows you exactly what it would do without actually applying changes. We also roll out to a single test device first. I enforce "change control" best practices through Git.
Can you integrate this with our existing FortiManager or SolarWinds?
