What is DFM and why does my project need it?
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) ensures your part can actually be built. I optimize wall thickness, draft angles, and tolerances so your design is ready for Injection Molding, CNC, or 3D Printing without costly factory redesigns.
Which software do you use for modeling?
I primarily work in SolidWorks and Autodesk Fusion 360. These are industry standards for parametric modeling, allowing for easy adjustments and high-precision mechanical assemblies.
What files will I receive for manufacturing?
You’ll get production-ready files including STEP and IGES for CNC/Molding, STL for 3D printing, and PDF/DWG for technical drawings. Native source files are available in my Premium tier.
Can you work from a rough hand sketch?
Most projects start as a sketch on a napkin or a basic idea. As long as you can provide rough dimensions and the intended use, I can engineer the full 3D CAD model from scratch.
Do you provide a Bill of Materials (BOM)?
Yes. For assemblies, I provide a detailed BOM that lists every component, fastener, and material spec required. This makes sourcing and final assembly much easier for your team.
Is my intellectual property (IP) safe?
As a professional, I respect client confidentiality. I am happy to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) before we discuss the technical details of your invention.
