I beta read fiction and creative nonfiction for flow, continuity, authenticity, accuracy, clarity, and world-building.


I will share my emotional reading experience with you, so you're gonna get some humorous anecdotes in your report.


I have a research and journalism background, so I will find historical and pop culture inaccuracies that could weaken your work--like if you mention Easy Mac in a story set in 1988, or you accidentally have your character stay up late "looking stuff up" without mentioning they went downstairs to get the enclyclopedia first. Stuff like that. OH! Or what if you're a British writer and you accidentally have your American character repeatedly refer to bathroom as the 'loo'? I'll find it!


Deliverables:

  • Comments via Google Docs or MS Word
  • 1-page or 2-page (depending on your package) report on your plot, speed, characters, vibe, and readability.


I will not use AI. I don't really know how to use it and I personally find it abhorrent.


I won't do any line or copy editing, but I will tell you what flavor of mistakes I'm finding.
