I will automate video conversion and thumbnails with python and ffmpeg

About this gig
Repeating the same video export by hand?
I will build a local Python and FFmpeg script that processes a folder of videos using one agreed preset. The entry package accepts H.264 MP4 files with optional AAC audio and creates resized MP4 copies plus one JPG thumbnail per file.
You receive readable source, a batch command, input checks, per-file error reporting, and setup notes. Original files are kept unchanged. I check the workflow with your authorized non-sensitive samples. My Farmium work includes Python/FFmpeg media processing, and I maintain a separate local media-job demo.
Entry scope: one input folder, one output folder, up to 20 clips per run, each up to 60 seconds, 50 MB and 1080p. One output preset fits within 720p without upscaling. You provide samples and a machine with compatible Python, FFmpeg and FFprobe.
A web API, new interface, cloud hosting, 4K, live streaming, AI generation and downloading third-party videos need a different scope. This is software automation, not manual editorial video editing. Gallery diagrams are illustrative.
Message me with a sample description and your desired output before ordering.

FAQ
Is this a video-editing service?
This is a repeatable software workflow. You receive a Python script that runs the same agreed conversion and thumbnail step across a folder. Manual editing, creative cuts, captions, music and motion graphics are not part of this package.
What files and batch size are included?
The entry scope is up to 20 H.264 MP4 clips per run, each up to 60 seconds, 50 MB and 1080p, with optional AAC audio. One preset outputs MP4 within 720p without upscaling, plus one JPG thumbnail per clip. Other codecs or limits require a separate scope.
Will my original files be changed?
The script writes to a separate output folder and keeps original inputs unchanged. It validates inputs, records per-file failures and avoids treating a failed export as complete. Test on copies and keep your own backup.
Does this include an API, hosting or paid software?
The entry package is a local command-line script with source and setup notes. Hosting, web APIs, new interfaces and paid services are excluded. You need a compatible Python/FFmpeg environment and rights to process the supplied clips.
