My assignments generally start with a quick review of accounting information to assess the completeness of contribution (or gross margin) and customer acquisition metrics within the accounting to be able to prepare a financial model with a focus on unit economics. I then conduct interviews with the founder to understand the funnel and other elements of the business. The initial deliverable is a financial forecast which is tied to the accounting and other internal reporting to faciliate budget vs actual analysis. Generally my assignments are ongoing, but can be project based for this initial deliverable.
