Need accurate, production ready CAD from a 3D scan?
I specialize in reverse engineering scanned parts and rebuilding them as clean, usable CAD for manufacturing, prototyping, and product development.
This is not an automatic mesh to STEP conversion service. I manually reconstruct the geometry based on scan data, design intent, fitment requirements, and the intended manufacturing process.
Services include:
3D scan to CAD / reverse engineering
Parametric and editable CAD reconstruction
Automotive and mechanical parts
Complex surface reconstruction
Modification and redesign of existing parts
Mounting tabs, clips, holes, bosses, and functional features
CAD preparation for 3D printing, CNC, molding, and thermoforming
STL / mesh repair and optimization
Deliverables can include STEP, IGES, Parasolid, STL, and SolidWorks files.

What do you need to start the project?
Please send the 3D scan or existing model, along with photos, key dimensions, and a short explanation of how the part will be used. I review the files first and confirm the best approach before starting.
What scan formats can you work with?
I can work with STL, OBJ, PLY, and most common mesh formats. Raw, unsmoothed scan data is preferred whenever possible.
What CAD formats can you deliver?
I can provide STEP, IGES, Parasolid, STL, and native SolidWorks files when required. Please let me know your preferred format before ordering.
Can you create an editable parametric CAD model from a 3D scan?
Yes. I specialize in rebuilding scanned parts as clean, production-ready CAD rather than simply converting the mesh into a STEP file.
Can you modify or redesign an existing scanned part?
Yes. I can change dimensions, wall thickness, mounting features, holes, tabs, clips, or other geometry while keeping the required areas aligned with the original scan.
Can you model organic or complex surfaces?
Yes. I can rebuild complex freeform surfaces when the scan quality and reference data are sufficient. Please send the files first so I can evaluate the geometry.
Are the files ready for manufacturing or 3D printing?
Yes, when included in the project scope. I can prepare models for 3D printing, CNC machining, molding, thermoforming, or other manufacturing processes.
Should I place an order before contacting you?
It is better to send the files first. Reverse engineering projects vary significantly in complexity, so I normally review the geometry and confirm the price and delivery time before you order.
