I will design and develop immersive virtual reality apps and games

About this gig
I create Virtual Reality experiences, ranging from immersive spatial walkthroughs to informative technical demos. I'll use your specifications and any provided 3D resources to compose an interactive application you can view in VR.
As part of this gig I will:
- Give initial suggestions as to how your idea might be refined.
- Create a VR app in Unity to meet your needs.
The Simple Interactive/Walkthrough package is perfect if you need to visualise a space or object in VR. The application will allow you to move around the space and pick up objects.
The Gameplay Proof-of-Concept package is ideal for developers in early stages of a project: my app will enable you to see your VR game mechanics brought to life, with suggestions informed by my many years of game design. You can use this experience to demonstrate the concept to others, or try it out yourself.
The Full Gameplay Experience MVP package builds your game idea into a Minimum Viable Product - this means an app that gives a sample of the full gameplay experience. This very "vertical slice" approach is commonly used in industry; it is very informative and offers a great foundation to start building your full game.

FAQ
What's the point of using VR?
Virtual Reality is the perfect technology for immersive experiences. "Immersion" is the feeling a user has of being physically present within a world. It is a very compelling quality to VR, and helps give a realistic sense of scale, and also makes action-filled experiences feel engaging and alive.
How will I be able to use the VR app?
You will need VR headset to try the application yourself. I can offer it as either a .exe file (for running "tethered" VR from your PC) or an APK (for use on a standalone headset). I'm happy to explain the difference and what suits your needs!
What "specification" will I need to provide to get started?
For this gig, it is useful to know what the final VR experience should do for you. This expectation may be simple, but for bigger packages, more complex specifications can make the process much faster. Consider: - What will the user do/see inside VR? - How long will the experience be?
What resources should I provide other than my idea?
For this service, any detailed/specific 3D models must be provided in advance; this includes environments and other objects/props. I am able to build simple placeholders for these things, but since this is not a 3D modelling gig I can only spend so much time on this.
What 3D file formats do you accept?
I can work with .obj, .fbx, .gltf and .glb 3D models. Please be aware that very large files can't always display smoothly in VR - at some point they may need to be "optimised", which may affect some of the details. We can discuss this!
