I will migrate your vb6, vb net or dotnet framework app to modern dotnet 8

About this gig
Your business still runs on a VB6 or old .NET Framework application. It works, but it's hard to install on new PCs, nobody wants to touch the code, and every Windows update feels risky.
I migrate legacy desktop apps to modern C# on .NET 8 (LTS), keeping the same behavior your team already knows.
What I migrate:
- Visual Basic 6 applications
- VB.NET applications (to C#)
- .NET Framework 2.0 to 4.8 WinForms and WPF apps
- Old data access (ADO, DAO, inline SQL) to safe, parameterized SQL Server queries
How it works:
- Assessment: I review your code and give you a plan, the risks and a fixed price. No surprises.
- Migration in small steps, so you can test progress along the way
- Delivery: full source code that builds in Visual Studio 2022, plus notes on what changed
Example from my portfolio: a legacy WinForms inventory app rebuilt in WPF on modern .NET, with search, low-stock alerts and Excel export. 500 products load in 0.2 s without freezing.
Your code stays private and I'm happy to sign an NDA. Start with the Assessment package if you're not sure how big the job is.

FAQ
Will the migrated app look and work the same?
Yes, by default I keep the same screens and behavior so your users don't need training. If you want a modern UI, I offer it as an extra.
My VB6 app uses old ActiveX/OCX controls. Is that a problem?
It's common. In the assessment I list every control and its modern replacement, with the effort for each.
Why .NET 8 and not the newest version?
.NET 8 is a long-term support (LTS) version. If you prefer .NET 10, I can target it at no extra cost.
Can I keep using my current database?
Yes. I keep your database and only modernize how the app talks to it, unless you ask to migrate it too.
Will you sign an NDA?
Yes, happy to.
