Recording and Mixing Engineer Music Producer
Soñador Azul Studio • Self-employed
Feb 2023 - Present • 3 yrs 3 mos
Founder and lead engineer at Soñador Azul Studio, a personal recording and mixing studio focused on music production, stereo mixing, and immersive audio. I am responsible for all technical and creative aspects of the studio, including recording, mixing, music production, and session management for independent artists and personal projects. In addition to production work, I designed and built the studio’s acoustic treatment, including the fabrication and installation of acoustic panels, ensuring a controlled and reliable listening environment. I also designed and implemented the studio’s immersive audio system, configuring a 7.1.4 monitoring setup that meets the technical requirements for Dolby Atmos mixing. This role has allowed me to develop a complete, end to end workflow covering recording, live sound capture, editing, mixing, and immersive audio preparation within a professional studio environment.
Audio Engineering Intern / Assistant Mixing Engineer
Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas • Full-time
Feb 2016 - Nov 2017 • 1 yr 9 mos
Audio engineering intern at the university recording studio, supporting a wide range of academic and artistic audio productions in both studio and live sound environments. My work involved assisting with microphone selection and setup for concerts, studio recordings, and radio productions, as well as preparing and organizing Pro Tools sessions for recording and postproduction. I regularly participated in the technical setup for weekly live concerts held at the university theater, ensuring proper signal flow and session configuration for multitrack recording. After the concerts, I was responsible for editing and mixing these live recordings in postproduction, delivering final mixes for archival and academic use. In addition to live concert work, I assisted in studio recording sessions for radio programs produced by the university, handling session setup, recording support, and postproduction tasks. I also contributed to the recording and production of academic music releases, including albums and projects developed under university academic standards. The internship also included studio recording sessions with composition and arrangement students, where I assisted engineers and producers during tracking sessions, microphone setup, and session management. This experience provided me with a strong foundation in recording workflows, live sound production, music mixing, and post-production, as well as an understanding of professional studio practices within an educational and performance oriented environment.
