I work as a freelance Beta Reader and Book editor, helping authors get honest and detailed feedback on their manuscripts before publication. My experience involves reading both fiction and nonfiction manuscripts and looking at them from the perspective of a real reader. I pay close attention to how the story or content flows, whether the pacing keeps the reader interested, and whether characters, ideas, and important details are clear and consistent. One of my strengths is giving constructive feedback in a straightforward but respectful way. I highlight what is already working well while also pointing out areas that may confuse readers, feel slow, or need further development. My goal is not to rewrite an author's work or change their voice. Instead, I help them understand how their manuscript may be received by readers and provide useful insights they can use to strengthen the final version.
