Welcome to my sampler gig! For each sample tier, I will beta read, revise, or edit to the full extent of what is offered for each in my other gigs. This is an option to see if you like my services before purchasing a full package from me.
Beta reading sample will include:
- Overview: Summary, Strengths, & Weakness
- Plot: Story Structure, Setting Contents, Overall Pacing, & Plot Holes.
- Characters: Individualized Impressions
- Setting: Commentary on the world around your characters.
- Constructive notes on the document.
- Any specific questions you want answered!
Developmental edit sampler will include:
- Editorial Assessment: Written report filled with your story notes.
- In-line Commentary: Constructive notes pinpointed in the manuscript.
- Reader Expectations, Character Development, Point of View Consistency, Story Length, Structure, Pacing, Plot, Theme, Voice, Tropes, and Cliches
Line edit sampler will include:
- Editorial Assessment: Written report filled with your story notes.
- In-line Commentary: Constructive notes pinpointed in the manuscript.

What does a sample beta read or edit mean?
I am offering a sample of my services at a lower rate. I want you to have the option to see if I’m the editor for you, at a discount! I will treat any work that I receive as a sample to the full extent of what I would normally offer.
What will your feedback look like?
I will provide you an editorial assessment or a reader report. Which is a written report filled with your detailed and tailored story notes. All levels will receive in-depth reports. Also, constructive in-line commentary pinpointed in the manuscript.
How do I send you, my manuscript?
You can send me the word docx, google doc link, Apple pages docx even! I prefer working in word and pages to make use of the inline commenting features. In the next stages of purchasing my gig will walk you through attaching a document.
What genre do you prefer to receive?
My favorites are fantasy, science-fiction, and romance. If you have questions about sub-genres just reach out! If you do not fall within these categories, but you like my packages, just reach out! I read a wide range of genres.
Will you use Track Changes for the Developmental or Line Edits?
Yes, if that is something you are comfortable working with. I can work in Track Changes as well. Just request it in the next stage. If you have never worked with Track Changes before, I wouldn’t recommend using it before practicing with its features on your own.
My word count is over 5,000 words, can I still get a sample from you?
Yes, absolutely! Just reach out and we will work out a plan.

Do you offer rewrites? Will you rewrite parts of my manuscript?
I'm not the editor for you. I will offer suggestions as to what to write, but I will not be doing the rewriting required of the developmental stage. As the author of the story, you know your idea's best. You will know how best to rewrite parts of your story. I'm here to help you flush out your book.
Will you read works written by AI?
No. I do not believe in the use of AI in the creative writing space.
