Do I need to provide an Anthropic API key?
Yes. Claude Code requires an Anthropic API key with access to Claude models. You can generate one at console.anthropic.com — I'll guide you if needed. API usage costs are paid by you directly to Anthropic, separate from this gig.
What's the difference between agents, skills, and hooks?
Agents are specialized roles Claude takes (code reviewer, debugger, refactorer). Skills are reusable instruction modules for repeated tasks. Hooks are automated triggers (pre-commit checks, formatting, test runs). Together they turn Claude Code from a chat tool into a real dev workflow.
Will this work with my existing IDE (VS Code, JetBrains, Cursor)?
Yes. Claude Code is a terminal-based tool, so it works alongside any IDE. I'll set up shell aliases and integration tips so you can call Claude Code without leaving your editor.
Can you set up MCP servers for my specific tools?
