Built a unified desktop automation tool for a timber construction company using WEINMANN CAD/CAM software. The client needed to automate repetitive and error-prone manual editing of machine code files (.bvx and .wup formats) used to drive CNC wall framing equipment. The application combines three independent processing modules: Mode A - Automatically simplifies part name labels in BVX machine code files for roof trusses, walls, and floors, writing standardised abbreviations into the Comments field Mode B - Reorders nailing rows in WUP framing files using a zig-zag/serpentine path algorithm to minimise empty travel of the nailing bridge, reducing production time Mode C - Parses the layer block structure of WUP files, identifies nailing rows that fall outside their assigned board boundaries, and disables them using the TXT // syntax recognised by WEINMANN software. Also detects and disables duplicate nailing rows within the same layer to prevent tool damage All modes support batch processing of multiple files at once, with automatic backup (original renamed to *_old.*) and safe rename-in-place output.
