I'll read your first chapter as a genuine reader and give you honest, thoughtful feedback on:
- Whether the opening hooks me
- Character introductions and engagement
- Pacing and clarity
- Plot setup and questions raised
- Confusing or distracting elements
- What makes me want to keep reading
- What's working well and what could be stronger
You'll receive a thorough follow-up report along with in-line comments showing my real-time reader reactions.
I've been an avid reader all my life and have spent 8+ years beta reading and critiquing fiction. I'm known for my "compliment sandwich" approach: I'll tell you what I love as well as what isn't working, because useful feedback should help you improve, not tear you down.
My goal is to give you an honest reader's perspective while treating your story with the care it deserves.

FAQ
What does a beta read cover?
This will mostly depend on what your story needs as I read, but in general, a beta read with me consists of focusing on: Pacing, plot, character development, worldbuilding, typos, grammar, and prose. In the requirements, I always ask what you'd like me to focus on.
What if I have follow up questions?
I always welcome follow-up questions! However, if you have them, I'd appreciate it if you'd ask them within the gig chat since I do not typically offer revisions.
What file types do you accept?
I currently accept manuscripts as doc, docx, pdf, and google doc files. If you wish to send me a google doc, please talk to me about this before booking so I can walk you through the process of sharing it.
Do you use AI for your beta reads?
No. I do beta reading because I love storytelling. So, I do absolutely everything from scratch. I don't use AI to beta read or to write the reader report.
